Sabesp starts up Brazil’s first gas-powered water pumping station

The station was inaugurated in the city of Osasco (SP) and the project is expected to be expanded. The project is part of a program to reduce water losses in the region that involves investments of around R$50 million ($9.5 mm). In addition to operational and energy safety, the project brings a 15% efficiency gain when compared to traditional systems. The initiative will benefit 9,300 people served by Sabesp.
