ONS defends the release of more water in two thermoelectric plants

The National Electric System Operator (ONS) wants to release more water from the Furnas and Mascarenha de Moraes reservoirs and hold water in the headwaters of the rivers that supply most of the plants in the country in the coming months. The agency also defends the activation of all thermoelectric plants, which generate more expensive energy, to maintain the governability of the basins throughout the year.
