BTG makes its 1st sustainable credit transaction with agricultural company

BTG Pactual has granted R$100 million ($17.5 mm) in credit to Olfar Alimento e Energia, in its first “sustainable” financing transaction, in which the bank will grant interest reductions as an incentive for the company to meet social and environmental targets. The funds will be used for working capital and investments in the Rio Grande do Sul-based company, which is one of the largest biodiesel industrial groups in Brazil. According to BTG, Olfar has committed to increase the purchase of family farming inputs and expand the process of packaging collection through reverse logistics over the next few years.
