OECD projects higher growth for Brazil in 2021

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) today announced improved projections for the growth of the Brazilian economy this year and in 2022. At the same time it warned of risks in the event of persistent delays in covid-19 vaccination. The estimate is now for Brazil’s economy to grow 3.7% this year, or 1.1 percentage point more than the estimate made in December.

AES Brasil advances in ESG practices in 2020

Building a company that is increasingly more sustainable and aligned with ESG concepts contributed to AES Brasil recording important socioenvironmental results in 2020. Mercado Livre invests $8 mm in biome regeneration programme

Mercado Livre has announced the launch of Regera America, its programme for the regeneration and conservation of the main biomes in Latin America. The company has chosen Brazilian biomes to kick-start its new sustainability program. With an initial investment of R$45 million ($8 mm), the company will support two projects in the Atlantic Forest region this year in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the Ecological Research Institute (IPÊ) and startup Pachama.

Totvs buys RD Station for $ 315 mm

Totvs reported in a material fact released to the market, that acquired, through its subsidiary Totvs Large Enterprise Technology, 92% of the capital stock of RD Station for R$ 1.86 billion ($315 mm). The amount will be paid at the closing of the transaction and is subject to adjustments. In January, Totvs confirmed that it was interested in acquiring RD Station, which had also drawn the attention of Locaweb at the time.
