Largest storage system in the country should begin operating by March

By the end of the first quarter, the installation of the largest battery storage system for electricity in the country should be completed. The BESS system has a storage capacity of 10 MWh, enough to supply 45,000 homes for one hour. The mining company Vale has applied technology aligned with its decarbonisation strategy. Last year, Vale announced an investment of at least $2 billion to reduce its direct and indirect absolute emissions by 33% by 2030.
