Mergers and acquisitions fall 5% by 2020 in Brazil

The number of mergers and acquisitions in Brazil fell by 5% in 2020 compared to 2019, and the volume of these transactions fell by 32%, in the wake of the economic crisis caused by the new coronavirus pandemic in the country. The data are from the monthly bulletin of the Madrid-based consultancy Transactional Track Record (TTR). According to the survey, there were 1,549 transactions in 2020, at a total value of R$229.5 billion ($42 bn).
