Engie to invest $407 mm in wind power in Brazil

Engie Brasil Energia, of the French group Engie, said it has signed a contract to purchase turbines to make viable a wind power generation complex in Rio Grande do Norte that will require investments of around R$2.2 billion ($407 mm). The company said in a statement that the agreement to supply wind turbines had been signed with Siemens Gamesa. The first phase of the so-called Santo Agostinho project will have an installed capacity of 434 megawatts.
