The Ministry of Infrastructure raised R$87.5 million($17.4 mm) in grants with the auction of the four port terminals located in Alagoas, Bahia and Paraná, held at the B3 headquarters in Sao Paulo. According to the portfolio, the ports will attract over R$400 million ($80 mm) in investments in the terminals.

The BNDES reported that the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) disburses a loan of $750 million, equivalent to R$4 billion, to the bank. The funds will be offered in financing to small and medium-sized companies in Brazil. The funds will make financing possible for more than 20,000 entrepreneurs, who will be able to access the funds through the lines available at BNDES.

The Heineken brewery announces that this December Brazilian production will start using 100% renewable energy in its plants in Alagoinhas (BA), Araraquara (SP) and Ponta Grossa (PR). The action is part of the global strategy of the company “Brewing a Better World”, which has as one of its objectives to reduce CO2 emissions in production by 80% by 2030.
Brazilian exports are expected to grow 13.7% in 2021 compared to 2020, to $237.3 bn, with the country’s foreign sales becoming more dependent on products such as soybeans, oil and iron ore, predicted the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association (AEB). With higher prices and lower growth in shipped volumes, these three products will increase their share of Brazil’s total exports to a record 40.2%.

Light approved the concession of exclusivity period to Brasal Energia to negotiate the sale, for R$ 88.7 million ($17.8 mm), of the company’s 51% stake in PCH Paracambi. The company also approved the exclusivity period for Brasal Energia to negotiate, for R$ 96.4 million ($19.4 mm), the 51% stake of its subsidiary Light Energia in Guanhães Energia, a company that operates the PCHs Senhora do Porto, Dores de Guanhães, Fortuna II and Jacaré.
