The states of Amapá, Amazonas, Rondônia and Roraima have the potential to generate 136 million cubic meters of biogas per year from solid urban waste and fish farm waste, shows a study developed by Instituto Escolhas in partnership with CIBiogás. This volume is capable of producing 283 GWh/year of electricity, enough to supply 107,000 households with an average consumption of 220 kWh/month and benefit 429,000 people.

Vale to develop $500 mm photovoltaic plant
Vale will build a photovoltaic plant with 17 sub-parts, totalling an installed capacity of 766 MWp with investment of $500 million . The project will be carried out in the municipality of Jaíba, in the state of Minas Gerais, and will be called Sol do Cerrado. The investment is a strategic alternative that, in addition to helping achieve the sustainability and competitiveness goals, will provide a reduction of about $70 million per year in electricity costs.

Congress approves $660 mm for ministries and international agencies
The senators approved a bill that releases supplementary credit of around R$3.3 billion ($660 mm) for several ministries and for the payment of pending issues with international bodies. The bill goes on to be sanctioned by the Presidency of the Republic.

Sales are expected to grow by 10% to 15% in December, provides for ACSP
For the Commercial Association of São Paulo (ACSP), with Christmas, sales for the month of December should close with an increase of 10% to 15% compared to November. Compared to the same period next year, stability is expected. The Association also points out that for next year, the government needs to think about strategies to maintain consumption.

Bolsonaro signs MP with $4 bn credit for vaccination against Covid-19
President Jair Bolsonaro has signed a provisional measure that opens an extraordinary R$20 billion ($4 bn) credit line for immunisation against Covid-19 in Brazil, including for the purchase of immunisers. Planning to use the resources is the acquisition of 70 million doses of Pfizer vaccine that the ministry is negotiating.
