The strategy, designed by Economy Misister Paulo Guedes, is to promote the sale of the Eletrobras shares on the market that the government and its development bank (BNDES) will still hold. This second transaction, to follow the stock offering that would transfer control to the private sector, is seen in the government as a sort of phase two of the privatization and estimated to raise almost R$62 billion ($12 bn). The government would keep only a golden share to have veto power in strategic decisions.

Energy distributor CEB was privatised with a $490 mn bid from a Neoenergia group company
The energy distributor of CEB, which operates in the Federal District, was privatised with a bid of R$2.515 billion ($490 mn) from Bahia Geração de Energia, a company of the Neoenergia group, controlled by the Spanish company Iberdrola. The event was marked by a 76.63% premium, according to data from B3 which held the event. The minimum price for 100% of the assets was approximately R$1.4 billion ($274 mn).

SP receives $6.8 mn to support low-income producers
Integration between federal, state and local governments will benefit farmers with management, income generation and safe food for the population. The State of São Paulo received R$35 million ($6.8 mn) from the Ministry of Citizenship to implement the Food Acquisition Program, supporting small farmers in business management and providing safe food to socially vulnerable families.

STJ ensures CBio target and distributors must buy more than 5 million
The target of 14.5 million Carbon Credits (CERs) to be acquired by fuel distributors should be fully met by the end of the year. The injunction which annulled the request for a reduction by half was maintained by the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). Therefore, the distributors have 3.5 weeks to acquire just over 5 million CBios.

Honda increases capacity of wind park in Rio do Sul state to 31.7 MW
Honda Energy do Brasil, has increased the capacity of its wind park in Rio Grande do Sul state to 31.7 MW. The expansion included the installation of a single 3.8-MW wind turbine at the site of the Xangri-La wind park. Operational since 2014, the automobile manufacturer intends to reduce the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of its products and processes by 50% by 2050.
