Caixa has begun an emergency credit access program for working capital for individual micro-entrepreneurs, micro-enterprises, and small businesses, which will guarantee future sales receivables taken by digital payment machines. The line is called Peac Maquininhas and has a budget of R$10 billion ($1.8bn).

Shortage of raw material is the highest in 19 years
The scarcity of raw materials in several segments and the high prices are currently the main factors limiting the expansion of industrial production in the country. Research by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) indicates that in October, the lack of inputs reached the highest levels since 2001 in 14 of the 19 industry segments.

Furnas acquires 1 GW solar via private auction
Furnas, contracted for the first time via private auction the energy of enterprises encouraged via the free market. Fifteen solar plants were made possible for a period of fifteen years, and supply began in 2024. The projects are in Bahia, Piauí, Ceará and Paraíba, with a total installed capacity of 1 GW, with an estimated investments of about R$4.1 billion ($759 mm).

IBGE estimates harvest of 253.2 million tonnes for 2021
The first estimate of national production of grains, cereals, pulses and oilseeds for 2021 forecasts a harvest of 253.2 million tonnes, up 0.5% (or 1.248 million tonnes more) compared to 2020. The October estimate for the 2020 crop reached 252 million tonnes, 4.4% higher than in 2019 (241.5 million tonnes).

Micro-credit programme could reach 20 million low-income workers
The micro-credit programme that the government intends to launch as one of the alternatives after the end of the emergency aid could benefit some 20 million low-income workers. Caixa is expected to enter R$10 billion ($1.85 bn) to finance the new line of credit, which could reach R$25 billion ($4.6bn). The average value of the operations is expected to be around R$1,000 ($185.00).
