Brazilian sugar exports grow 119% in October 2020 compared to last year

In October, Brazil exported 4.203 million tons of sugars and molasses, which is 119.18% more than in the October 2019 when 1.918 million tons were shipped. Data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) show that the revenue obtained from the sector’s total export in October was $1.202 billion, 18.66% higher than the $1.013 billion obtained in September 2020. Between October 2019 and October 2020, the price of a ton of the product rose 0.65%, from $284.33 per ton to $286.19 per ton.
