The production of biofuels in Brazil avoided the emission of more than 10 million tons of carbonic gas into the environment. This is proven by the emission of decarbonisation credits, the CBio. The green bonds, marketed at B3, are based on the sustainable production of biofuel raw materials.

The impact of the pandemic on banks, in a severe scenario of defaults by companies and vulnerable workers, fell 50% in the new stress test released by the Central Bank (BC). According to the Financial Stability Report, the Central Bank would have to contribute R$35 billion ($6.4 bn) in the simulation that considers a severe shock of covid-19 on the national financial system, which is half the previous test in May.

BTG Pactual and announced that it will revert to the third sector, all the amount arising from the interest paid by small entrepreneurs who received the credit line in order to minimize the effects of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In all, R$ 9 million ($1.6 mm) in credit was granted to micro-entrepreneurs, at a rate of 6% per year.

The Executive Branch has sent to the National Congress a proposal that foresees supplementary credit of R$ 976,7 million ($175 mm) destined to 20 state companies, with highlight among them Eletronuclear with R$ 744 million ($133 mm) distinguished for the nuclear plant Angra 3. Eletronorte will receive R$ 106.1 million ($19 mm).

Even with the country still facing the new coronavirus pandemic, the Central Bank Activity Index (IBC-Br) has accumulated the fourth consecutive month of high. With the August performance, the Brazilian economic activity registered an expansion of 12.25% since April – when the worst results of the pandemic were registered.
