IBGE foresees record harvest of 252 million tons of grains in 2020

The national grain harvest should reach 252 million tons in 2020, a record level and 4.4% above the 2019 harvest, informed IBGE, in the Systematic Agricultural Production Survey (LSPA). Soybeans, herbaceous cotton and coffee should reach their highest production levels in the year in the institution’s historical series.

Santos Brazil joins ESG index

Santos Brasil informed that it became part of the S&P/B3 Brasil ESG index, launched by B3 and S&P Dow Jones in early September. The S&P/B3 Brasil ESG brings a list of recommendations of companies focused on good environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices.

Goldman believes in ESG to advance in Latin America

Goldman Sachs increases its presence in Latin America with a focus on social and ecological debt amid growing demand for sustainable bonds from emerging markets. At the heart of Goldman’s strategy are emissions with ESG criteria. The bank has structured over $10 billion in Latin American bond issues in 2020.

Neoenergia distributors report 1.3% energy supply

Neoenergia distributors injected 16,307 GWh of electricity in the third quarter of 2020, up 1.33% year-on-year. According to Neoenergia, the result signals that the recovery of the economy after the isolation measures related to the pandemic has reflected on the energy distribution market.

Latam receives first instalment of $1.15 bn

Latam has received the first instalment of DIP financing, provided for in the judicial reorganisation process underway in the United States. The amount received was $1.15 billion, equivalent to 50% of the $2.3 billion available.
