Vehicle production followed the sales trend and fell by 11% in September and 41.1% in 2020, reaching 220.16 billion and 1.331 million, respectively. Exports are also falling, according to Anfavea data. In September, the decline was from 16.7% to 30,500 vehicles exported.

Imbituba Port moves 602,7 thousand tons and breaks a historical record
The Port of Imbituba (SC) maintained the growth curve of recent months and closed September with another operational record: 602,737 tons moved, which now consolidates as the best monthly result in its history. The mark represents growth of 42.7% compared to September 2019. Among the factors contributing to the positive performance is the capacity to handle different types of cargo simultaneously.

Number of companies in operation grows by 252,800 in one month
The recovery of the economy is reflected in an increase in the number of companies operating. According to the Ministry of Economy’s Business Map, 252,840 more businesses were opened in September than were closed. On September 30, the number of active companies in the country increased to 19,542,664.

Vale receives $278 mm with sale of assets in Indonesia
Vale said that its subsidiary Vale Canada Limited had completed, together with Sumitomo Metal Mining, the sale and transfer of a 20% stake in PT Vale Indonesia to local group PT Indonesia Asashan Aluminium. The Vale subsidiary received approximately $278 million in cash with the closing of the deal, the mining company added in a statement to the market.
