Water demand in Brazil may increase 80% by 2040

The demand for drinking water in Brazil may increase by almost 80% by 2040 in face of economic, demographic and climate changes. Considering only the economic and demographic growth of the coming years, Brazilians should demand 14.3 billion cubic meters of water in 2040. This figure is 43.5% higher than the amount of water that was delivered to the population in 2017.
